No idea...so don't ask

Hustler Casino
2/5 NL HE $100-$300 buy-in
--------------------------------------
Bought in for $300

Me (MP2) - $450
CO - $95
BB (loose player)- $250

I raise in MP2 to $30 with AKs, CO calls, BB calls.

Flop: T♥8♣4♣

BB checks, I bet $45, CO calls, BB calls

Turn: T♠

BB checks, I check, CO goes all-in for $20, BB folds(?!?!), I call

CO immediately turns over KJo(?!?!)

River: A♣

Final Pot: $265

Hustler's my new favorite poker room  It's REALLY nice inside and they use Paulsen chips.  I'm never going to Hollywood Park ever again.

Rich and I both played in the $150+25 tournament (good structure) which was very brief...His top two pair got sucked out on by a straight and my straight got sucked out by a boat (on the river).  I had the other guy covered by a whole 75 in chips when I went all-in on the turn after I reraised (3-bet) the flop.  Prior to that though, Rich won a share of a jackpot which net him $900...that's TABLE SHARE.  Finally!  After over 4 years of playing, he finally gets involved of a jackpot.  Much thanks to the donkey who called down with QQ on a AA3 flop.

After the tourney, we played approximately 1 hour at the 2/5 game and I was up $400 and Rich was up as well...we ended up leaving earlier than we wanted because we were hungry as hell, Rich was about to have frostbite inside the place and I had a huge headache from caffeine and traffic.  Table was very soft.

Laziness

It's been about a week and a half since I've been to Commerce and that's most likely attributed to the fact that it's 25 minutes too far from me and I'm too lazy to drive that distance...or maybe it's because I don't feel like doing anymore long sessions (which seem to always be the case so far).  What people don't realize is that if you stay till at least 5am, you're going to hit traffic so you might as well stay till at least 8-9am, but when I want to go home, I want go then and there...not 3-4 hours later.  However, there IS the 5am breakfast special which is eggs, toast, and bacon or sausage all for only $2 which does make 5am a bit more attractive.  Last time, I had the 5am breakfast special then talked to the really cute floorgirl [instead of playing] for 3 hours before I hit the road.  Literally...3 hours.

I also JUST got a DVR and switched to Direct TV so I've been just sitting at home recording and then watching too many shows.  So now, I have a DVR, Direct TV (more channels than my previous Dish network), a Slingbox, and a broadband capable phone...I'm pretty much set for life.  I can't recall doing anything worthwhile besides what I've mentioned so far.

Besides that, I listen to Richie Rich talk about his $1 online tourneys and how his BR on Pokerstars is now $8 after he ITM'd.  I was going to railbird (because again, I have nothing else to do), but I forgot that I'm a badbeat railbird.  The last time I watched him play a $10+rebuy tourney he lost with KK against QQ when there was one Queen left in the deck, so I decided against it this time around; and what happened?  He ITM'd.  He won with 33 against K7 and 65 when they got it all-in pre-flop.  Wow.

Side note:  I've bought too much shit at Best Buy and CompUSA in the past week.

Daily Grind (sort of)

Well, it seems official that the SNG competition is probably over with the new online gambling law about to be signed, and thank God for that (the SNGs, not online gaming).  I've been at Commerce quite often playing the 9/18 limit HE game and by quite often, I mean by how often I get bored, which is again quite often.  I've been grinding at an average of 10 hour sessions which has led me to know all of the regulars in that game and learn the game quickly.  I know the stakes of "9/18" is kind of weird, but I do enjoy the game and feel comfortable playing it;  Richie Rich however refuses to play the game out of principle because of the stupid betting amount [which is again $9 and $18].  Why Commerce doesn't just round up to 10/20?  Shrug.

One thing about the game is certain....it's all about hoping.  There's no other way to play the game except in that manner.  Whenever I'm in a hand the first thing that comes to mind is, "God, I hope...."  That phrase has probably crossed my mind about a couple thousand times by now and is a great way to live a disconcerting lifestyle.  Hey, I'm good at it so leave me alone.

I've never been so scared holding aces on a flop of A♠9♣6♥.  You're not missing anything...I have top set.  No, board didn't pair.

[EDIT]  I've just been notified by Vaughn Sandman that the limts are 9/18 because supposedly Asian people like  betting increments of 3 (and 4) and is a ploy to get more Asians in there.  Also because it's the largest jackpot game in the room.

Today:
BBQ
Formula 1
2 Movies
Lots of watching "The Office"

Hiatus

The competition is still alive, I suppose, but I haven't played any SNGs in a while and don't plan to.  I hate them and they hate me.  I also have no idea about anyone's progress anymore...we all probably share the same sentiments of the whole thing and it'll be about a month before I play this crap again, haha.

-Rich has been playing H.O.S.E (Hold 'em, Omaha8, Stud, Stud8) on Stars instead.
-I've been playing Omaha8 (and one night of 9/18 limit HE at Commerce).
-Jamie got his ass handed to him (otherwise known as getting really unlucky) when he tried to play the CAP
games on Full Tilt.  He was 2 for 6 with aces.
-Eliot won back to back 4th Street games a few weeks back, so I doubt he cares to play the SNG donkfest.
-Jeff's been out of the loop for a while also and if anyone else on here has any updates, let me know.  I will post
 them.

Side notes:
Went to the Lobster Fest (or Lobster Bust according to Brian Ueda), but didn't have any lobster, but did have crab cakes instead along with highly concentrated lemonade.  So concentrated that that I was chewing on powder most of the time.  The line to get lobster was literally close to a football field long.  Upside is I got in for free...did the ole "lick your hand then press it on the other guy's hand" trick....Kalon has very potent saliva.  Did you know that the word "star" looks very close to itself when printed backwards?  Kalon said his saliva rivals with the saliva of dogs which is always wonderful to know.  I mean, when is it not?  Jamie mentioned he was looking forward to seeing someone's scrotum while playing volleyball (I think).  A lot of other stuff probably happened, but I'm too lazy to post them.  I'm hungry.  Later.
